Heavy hearts

This past week we've been trying to process the awful news that our bassist, our musical brother, our dear friend Sevon Moore passed away.  We've had the honor of being his band mates in fauverdog from 2002-2004 then again with Bayou Black from 2008-2016.  When we first started playing shows with Sevon, people would often tell us how much they loved watching him on stage, and so did we.  His energy with his bass in hand was palpable and contagious.   He was fearless when he went for an idea and played in the pocket with conviction. Sevon was a true lover of music and more importantly, a genuine good-hearted person.  He was always deep in thought and introspective and we loved that about him.  We looked forward every week to our time we spent with Siete' (As if his real name "Sevon Moore" wasn't cool enough, his nickname was "Siete' Mas").  It was so tough to play last week and know that we won't be able to jam with him again, but we're so fortunate to have an album's worth of new material recorded with Sevon.  We can't think of a more appropriate way to honor him then by sharing his talents with everyone this coming year.  He will always be with us and our music in spirit. Please keep his mother Brenda and his son Jacob in your thoughts.

Get back to the good life our brother....until we meet again.....
